Farewell to Kaithleen Apostol: A Champion of Our Voice and Vision
It’s not easy to say goodbye to someone who has been such a vital force in the evolution of Kultivate Labs. After four transformative years, we bid farewell to Kaithleen Apostol, our Marketing Manager, with immense gratitude and admiration for the mark she has left on our organization.
Kaithleen joined Kultivate Labs at a pivotal moment—a time of rapid growth, bold ideas, and big dreams. During her first year, which coincided with the pandemic when everyone was isolated, she worked remotely from San Diego, yet was drawn to our mission like a beacon of hope. We needed someone who could not only build a communications strategy from the ground up but also bring organization and management to a rapidly growing organization with ambitious goals. Kaithleen was perfect for that!
From day one, she brought clarity, creativity, and a keen eye for detail to our marketing efforts. Her work didn’t just shape our public presence; it freed up my time as Executive Director to focus on fundraising, vision-building, and organizational growth. In that way, her impact was both immediate and foundational—allowing Kultivate Labs to scale and expand in new and exciting directions.
One of her most enduring legacies is the Brownthought Academy. Under her guidance, what began as a tribute to a dear friend and mentor evolved into a powerful platform for developing talent, amplifying stories, and nurturing emerging leaders of color. Her leadership made it possible for that program—and so many others—to grow and thrive.
To Kaithleen: thank you. You helped us find our voice. You helped us tell our story. And now, because of you, that story is stronger than ever.
And to our community: you’ll still see Kaithleen around. She’ll be working with Make it Mariko, managing the Minted SF event campaign, and also helping Executive Order with their social media and supporting our newly fiscally sponsored organization, MOSA. Kaithleen will continue to advocate for our local community of small businesses and artists as she ventures into growing her own creative studio and marketing consultancy, Binibini Kreative. We’re excited to see all the great things she’ll continue to accomplish!
With deep appreciation,
Desi Danganan
